How to Get Rid of Scabies
Scabies are often confused with several other skin problems such as eczema and other skin infections because of their similar appearance. While the scabies can be extremely discomforting, there are several natural, home remedies that can treat the condition completely. Some of the best natural remedies to get rid of scabies are discussed below:
1. Citrus products
Citrus juice or citrus oil is considered to be one of the best home remedies for treating scabies. Fruits such as lemon, oranges and grapes are known to be rich in citrus content. Other products such as citrus based mouth wash can also be used to treat scabies. The best way to use citrus products is to apply the citrus extracts from the fruits directly over the affected area on the skin and leave it for some time so that the juice or oil completely dries and then wash out the juice thoroughly with warm water. Repeat the process several time till the infection disappears completely. If you are other citrus based products such as mouth wash ensure that it is safe to use it topically. If the citrus content is strong you can dilute it with vegetable oil. Use any of the citrus products you want to get rid of the itch and the infection.
2. Mixture of peppermint, tea-tree and neem oil
These natural oils have proved to be a potent mixture for treating scabies. Mix all the oils in equal proportion in a bowl and apply the mixture over your skin. However, before using this mixture you need to know that these oils are of industrial strength and hence it is important to test them over a small patch of skin before you apply over your entire body. If you have a sensitive skin it may trigger strong allergic reaction. If you don’t have any allergy problems you can use this mixture every day just like the citrus juice, except that you need not have to rinse of the oil. Apply the oil over the affected skin just like you would apply a skin lotion and spread the oil to cover all the affected parts. Continue using the oil until the scabies are gone.
3. Calendula, Turmeric and Aloe Vera mixture
All these natural elements are used to treat various skin problems including scabies. These natural substances have strong medicinal properties that are known to promote healthy skin. Crush a few petals of the calendula flowers along with a pinch of turmeric power blend this mixture in to the fresh gel obtained from the aloe vera plant to make a paste. When a good consistent paste is obtained apply the paste over the scabies area. The paste would provide you quick relief from the annoying itch.
