How To Conceal Melasma (brown Spots)

Melasma is a skin condition that shows up in the form of Brown Spots or patches on the skin, particularly the face. These brown spots tent to occur in Women who undergo a surge in hormone levels due to Pregnancy, oral Contraceptive use or hormone replacement therapy (HRT) during menopause. melasma is more a Cosmetic concern than a health concern.

So what can we do to conceal melasma? Usually, melasma will fade away a few months after birth, or once you stay away from oral contraceptives or HRT. But if you want the brown spots disappear a bit faster, here are some available options.

You can purchase skin light cream with at least 2 percent Hydroquinone such as Esoterica or Porelana. These are your best bet and should be applied to your brown spots twice daily. You can find them at Sephora or pharmacies.

In addition, your doctor may also prescribe Tretoinin, which is a form of Vitamin A.

Available generic versions are likely less expensive. You can stock up on Vitamin A when traveling or across the border to Canada. If you choose to self-medicate, do not use Tretoinin if you are Pregnant.

Other treatments involve Tazorac cream, Azelex, Differin gel, NeoStrata (glycolic acid in 10 percent form) and glycolic acid peels. Lasers have also proven sffective in removing melasma.

Besides, avoiding the exposure to sun is crucial. The best cure for melasma is to stay out of the sun, so wear at least 30 SPF Sunscreen on your face. Stay under an umbrella or wear a wide-brimmed hat is also worked.
